After more than a decade in the stop-motion animation industry as a machinist and fabricator, I found myself pulled back to a different kind of craft — one grounded in the rhythm of horses and the satisfaction of working outdoors.

I grew up riding and working around horses, including spending high school summers as a vet tech assistant at the Helen Woodward Animal Center’s Equine Hospital in Rancho Santa Fe, CA. In my twenties, I worked briefly on a stud farm in Queensland, Australia, before earning an MFA in production design from CalArts and eventually landing in the world of film and stop-motion animation as a machinist.

That work strengthened my skills in problem-solving, craftsmanship, and attention to detail — but I missed the physicality, the connection to animals, and being outside. Farriery and equine bodywork bring those parts of my life together.

I offer professional hoof care and equine massage therapy in the greater Portland area. I’m a graduate of the Oregon Farrier School, currently apprenticing under a professional farrier, and pursuing my certification in Large Animal Massage through the Northwest School of Animal Massage.
