Stevie Anne Nemazee is a multidisciplinary artist and writer working in stop-motion animation and theatre.

Central to her work is a preoccupation with transgressors, failures, outliers, deviants, and the aesthetic pleasures of ugliness. Through these figures, she delights in exploring phantasmagorical landscapes, liminal spaces, basking in the sublime, and examining the world alternately through fabulist and absurdist lenses.

Stevie is a MacDowell Fellow, UNIMA-USA Scholar, and was Emerging Artist at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center’s National Puppetry Conference in 2018. She holds an MFA in Theatre Design and Production from the CalArts, MA in Art Curatorship from the University of Sydney, and BFA (magna cum laude) in Film from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Stevie is a triple citizen of the US, UK, and Iran.
